The arch is used to

extract individual larger

pieces of timber, bundles of whole

tree first thinnings or multiple short

wood lengths using choker chains which

attach to quick release hitches. The timber

is raised off the ground at the front which

not only reduces friction but keeps the

timber clean. The arch is used to take

larger loads over longer distances

than the swingle tree method, yet

is still highly manoeuvrable

requiring only 1.5 metres

width access.
